African Reggae music has also seen a good evolution these past years. You might have seen the rise of Tiken Jah Fakoli.
There seems to be a “France – Mali – Guinée – Jamaica” connection producing fresh new sounds in the reggae land.
The french multi-enstrumentist and sound engineer, among other things, Manjul, has been presenting his new project “Dub To Mali”. He has based his studio (his label is called Humble Ark) at Bamako and experimented a kind of fusion of reggae and african sounds.
On the other hand, Takana Zion, a young artist from Guinée Conakry, has presented his first album this year : “Zion Prophet”, an album Manjul collaborated to, and released on the Makasound label.
Don’t miss ! The guys rule !
